Was wondering if you guys believe this model Ruger rifle to be MD compliant as Ruger states? Quote from Ruger also seen at this link:

"Now available in a state compliant model that is legal for sale in the following, otherwise restricted locations: Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Puerto Rico."

Couldn't find the magic words, heavy barrel, anywhere using my smell phone but, that doesn't mean it isn't there, somewhere.

Unfortunately Ruger AR556 has a medium contour barrel profile and in order for it to be MD compliant it must have a "HBAR" heavy barrel profile.

Could be that Ruger is considering the ten round mag as compliant.
    Its certainly not the rifle.

I just think they feel they covered all the taboos, not realizing we Merrylanders don't like barrels on our rifles that aren't bludgeons.

Ruger dropped MD from the complaint list, as discussed on one of the other threads on this rifle.

Move along folks there is nothing to see here.

Yes. After 4 threads on the same subject, I think everyone's gotten the word.

Thank you. I am going to write Ruger and ask them where in Maryland this rifle would be available as 2 FFLS have already told me they would not sell it.

While you're at it please write all manufacturers not named colt a letter to tell them they are all criminals for sending rifles into MD :sarcasm:
