Last night I made 1000 200gn .45 cal bullets. Now I need to lube them and load them so I can give him 1000 rounds of .45ACP for his present.

For years he ignored the 1911 and carried a Sig 220 but then the light must have gone on and now he owns three high end 1911's!

I guess it might have something to do with all his kids being out of the house and him being semi retired. :envy:

I think it's because he knows where to get free bullets. :D

That is a great gift idea. How long does/will it take you to produce 1000 rounds? (I am considering taking the plunge into reloading.)

It depends on you and your press. Please see the "So... You want to reload?" sticky thread for an explanation on the different types of presses and how many rounds they can generate per hour.

Hang on.. you hit the lottery? Do you need a brother?? :D

LMAO Look Brother... you'd be the second poorest SOB on the planet if you waited on me to win the lottery.

I keep telling them lottery players I know, if they'd just give me all of that money they waste on that crap and let me hold their weekly investments for them, then in 20 years, they would have several thousands of dollars to pay their medical bills with in the future.

I wonder if the big name ammo manufacturers have 1000 people setting at benches pumping out ammo on single stage presses for 12 hours a day ?

That's as bad as them guys who sit in a room all day and shell peanuts to fill up them jars.

    Talk about a sucky job.

Ok, progress report. Since I only load the .45 ACP to 850 FPS, I just tumble lube them instead of running them up and down my Saeco lubrisizer. Tonight I will tumble them with Mica so that they are not sticky.

I gave up using just a single stage when my wife stopped feeding shells and bullets. She wanted to shoot a lot (she had a S&W 686 then) but wasn't interested in reloading anymore. That gave me the opening to go to a Dillion 550 (not to mention that a guy at the Pikesville show was selling it at half price). ;)

Get this, when I asked the guy why he was selling all his Bullseye reloading stuff, he told me that someone had introduced him to trap and skeet and he needed the money for a nice shotgun. He said Bullseye was too tame. I wonder if he changed back when IDPA came along.

I take my time loading as it is relaxing to me. I will probably finish up the 1000 by the end of the month as I am loading 30-30 and 8x57 on the single stages in between. I also have to reload 28ga and 12ga on my MECs for a sporting clays trip over the Christmas Holydays.
