I need some help with a chosen model to have some new grips, I love these grips and torn what gun to put them on. First up model 686, next model 64..

Those grips look more in place on the 64.
That plus the 686 being .357 you may be better suited with a larger grip on the 686.
I'm a big fan of Agrends and have them on a few of those roundy,roundy guns now.

Agreed with pop-gunner. The grip:gun ratio looks 'right' on the 64. The 686 needs a bit more to it.

Assuming it's not painful to shoot the 686 that way with hotter .357 rounds, I really like the look compared to ugly Hogue grips. They seem a bit too big on the model 64 but maybe it's just the photo.

I like the feel of the other grips better too. Let me tell you a S&W secret, RB targets are cheap to buy, they will go up soon as people catch on.

Do RB tagets = round butt grips of some sort?

Those 686 grips look small. My 586 came with large S&W Combat grips. Mine is an older model but you can see a pic of them on the new Classic Line from S&W, they are making a 586 model. They are a bit big for my hands so I alternate between them and Hogue monogrips, ugly though comfortable.
Right now I think your 64 looks more balanced with those grips than the 686. JMHO I got a 64 on the last group buy and will have to get a set of the wood grips, they look good.
