I hope it's not a complete format change. One of my favorite forums switch from Vbulletin to Xenforo and I've all but stopped participating. The format tries too hard to be like facebook and I do not like it.

For whatever it's worth, your moderator staff isn't fond of drama and dumb gadgets. I'm certain that Kev will do what he can to keep ot feeling familiar around here.

We tried a feature a few years ago that would allow you to tag another member's name. If I really wanted Norton to see this, I'd type @norton and he'd get a notification.

People didn't abuse it so much as lose their f&!#ing minds over the change. I got serious hate mail pm's about how we were destroying MDS. Upvotes will tear this place apart.

I seem to recall a lot of folks not even realizing this could be done

I have a suggestion if it's possible. Can the new setup be to split up the recent posts by "water cooler" and everything else? I want to keep up with the shootin' side of things, but a lot of times it gets flooded by the water cooler stuff.

You can do this now by selecting the "New Posts No WC"

I totally understand not having the likes/dislikes but the tagging via "@username" feature is extremely useful when you're soliciting information from a particular member but you still want the discussion public for general input.
I can't understand why people hated it. Using the @username tagger is better than an endless quote chain.
