My only S&Ws at this time, a 59 and 439.
Bought the factory nickle plated 59 in the late 70's second hand and was my first 9mm pistol. Still have the original plastic grips tucked away safely somewhere. Installed Pachmeyer grips and a factory adj. rear sight to make it a bit more user friendly.
The 439 was bought new in the early 80's as a CCW piece in place of my trusty but heavy Combat Commander. Retired it from carry duty when I got a LW Commander. Love the fit of this single stack frame in my small paws. Even have the original box!

I've still got the original wood grips for this 66, but they just don't fit my hands well. It is my favorite Smith.

My pistol class instructor had us rack the slide on our @$$ to simulate if we couldn't use our left hand to get it done during a fight.
That slide would have torn a bit of meat, but it would have gotten it done. :o

That's the idea behind this. The aggressive milled pattern provides enough traction to rack this slide on just about anything if you find yourself down to just one working arm -- to include things like your pant covered thigh.

on a side note, racking your glock slide on your friends' wooden dining table will piss off your friend. don't do it. Pant leg is a safer bet.:D
