They are cool. Despite the fact that (according to the interwebs, apparently) I own the only Sig 556xi Russian in existence that runs flawlessly, I will wait for the Gen 2 version. Sig just hasn't been on a roll lately.

This gun is such a huge let down to me because of the weight. WTF was the point of moving to a piston system if you're still gonna weigh 6.5lbs?

The expensive, proprietary mags are also kind of a kick in the balls.

OTOH, I do like how it's modular... but that's about it.

Just looked over the Sig website and they have an optional collapsible stock similar to a NEA stock and the longest barrel they offer is a 8.5". Might be able to get to +29" with a 2" or 3" flash hider. Could always permanently attach a can I mean at $3k for the gun what's another $800
