I am going to try to find a good bullet to load for long distance shooting out of my AR - 15. I am going to give the SMK 77 Grain HPBT a shot first. I noticed that the 77 grain HPBT MatchKing comes in a cannelured version. I think it comes in a non-cannelured 77 grain SMK version. Which should I go with?

I see some are molly coated but that's another ball of wax. I'm going with the non-molly coated version.

    Thanks,
    Eric

The cannelured version is intended to facilitate a crimp as required for the milspec loading of this bullet. If you plan to crimp, get the cannelured version.

I don't normally crimp match ammo for an AR-15, but some folks do.

I personally do not care for moly coated bullets and find its benefits both questionable and outweighed by complications.
