The folders I have been using of late. Top is a Sardinian Pattadese resting on an Italian Caminetto pipe, second is a Knife from Turkey made by someone named Hassan on a hand carved Turkish meerschaum pipe, and third is my go-to Opinel on a no-name pipe that just says "Made in France" on the shank. But it smokes very good. All three knives have thin flat ground blades that slice and dice very very good.
Ended up snagging a ZT561, gorgeous knife, and too many people have too much good to say about it, I love my ZT300, but this might take it's spot in my pocket.
Being picky as I am, I spent a couple hours tweaking it to my liking, shaping the scale for easier unlocking, cleaning up and polishing the edge bevel, tweaking the detent setup for easier thumb opening, and flipping it until my fingers were sore. The machining inside the knife is just as gorgeous as the outside, same length as the 300, slightly longer handle with better control, but a lot lighter. I love the spring AO setup of my 300, but the KVT bearings are dead smooth, and open just as quickly without a spring, opens with a clean light snap instead of the heavy thump of the 300. The blade shape is a simple drop point, nice high grind, lots of straight edge, a subtle belly, and nice sharp tip, should be good for a big knife EDC role.
yes, but it was white, not sure if blue would eat the plastic in the G10(and why the loc-tite it came with wasn't a standard color), so I used CA to reassemble, the screw heads seat in G10 which compresses fairly well, so I doubt it will come loose easily, and CA works just as well as low strength loc-tite, but is much safer for plastics or composites.
I have this cheaper Yes-4-All blade and the handle is great, but it definitely needs a sharper blade. My brother's Gerber will cut anything open in an instant.
Nice collection. I wish Benchmade still made the Skirmish and Mini Skirmish models...they did a hella job with the styling and functionality. I had one of the Blue Mini Skirmish LEs that was 007 of 250 and traded it...I really regret it
The Warrior is IMO one of the best SD fixed blades ever made. I've always wanted one. What Benchmade fixed blade is in the back left corner...is it a Nim or Presidio by chance?
Judging by your folders, I am going to guess that like me you are a big fan of the Reeve Integral Lock/framelocks. Any ZT folders for you in the future?
