With the recent buying panic, I was curious what was selling out. Remington 870s were getting low on inventory, but I found youth, 20 gauge models at pre panic pricing, so decided to get one, just because (and the youngest will eventually grow into it).

A few pics below in comparison to a 20-gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster where you can see the difference in stock size.

With turkey season starting this weekend, I got out the turkey gun and got it ready.

Thank you. It gets wiped down after I use it. Was lucky to find this one NIB on GB a few years back as it's an older model. Another reason to get the 870 youth is that I don't want the youngest banging up the Wingmaster, as it was otherwise the only 20 gauge in the safe. Wingmaster protection program. :)

I had my eye on a beautiful C&R 20 ga 870 wingmaster on GunRaper last week and was getting hopeful but a lot of last minute activity put it over $500. In the end I didn’t even bid.

I like that shortie barrel on the 20. Even on a 12, I’ve got the rifle sight smooth barrel for the 12.

The shorter 20, with rib, I’ve casually been looking for a local sale, but the folks that have them are holding on. Good for turkey and deer up close and in thick quarters.

    Both look good.

I identify as bi-caliber. Been on the hunt for a Savage 24 top lever in .22LR/20ga for quite a while. Patience paid off; excellent condition and a good deal.

Growing up, hunting along the bay marsh and dunes, my cousins had two guns. A nice 870 and a 22/20 savage. Iirc the choke was a little wide, maybe IC. But that’s A nice looker. It brings back some fond memories.
