Added a Blackhawk! Knoxx recoil.suppression adjustable stock and matching forend to my 870 "Tactical" model today. Overpaid for it, but it was there on the wall, and calling my name...:D

    Nice.
    How is the weight/feel?

Thanks. I do not think there's any weight difference, since the "tactical" model has synthetic stock to start with, but FEEL is great. I'm a big boy and to compliment the oversized forend, I also chose to swap on the included larger pistol grip insert.

Ive been a mechanic for over 30 years, so my wrists don't have the dexterity they once had. Shooting any conventional stocked shotgun or rifle, is very hard for me due to that loss of movement. They claim 80% recoil reduction, so I'm really looking forward to shooting it again. Last time, shooting a 25rd box of 1600 fps 3" slugs, it beat my shoulder up pretty good...lol.

    Gotcha.
I've broken my right wrist twice so traditional stocks are wonky because there is no bend for me and I love the look of this

You'd be a perfect candidate for one of these then.

This is the one I got, although this exact one is for a Mossberg:

Gun Connection was $135, but you can get one anywhere for about 100 bucks...like I said above, I no doubt overpaid, but I grabbed it because I wanted one and they had it there in stock.

    Just to update...
Finally got to Frestate yesterday morning with my new Gen 2 setup.

It is one of, if not the best, mods I think I've ever made to any firearm. Now a 18.5" barrel 12 gauge shotgun has a felt recoil comparable to one of my AR's....

Now the fact that I paid full retail for it, doesn't hurt nearly as bad.

I wish I could find a similar setup for my old faithful Savage/Stevens 320 Security model.

EDIT: Didn't even see the Stevens 320 above, LOL...That's next item to buy.

I installed a first gen on my Remington 870 Super Magnum. 3 1/2" Turkey loads felt like Magnum 2 3/4" buckshot rounds with the original stock.

This is my latest 870. Shes a plain Jane and looks likes other 870s, but she is special. Its a 1980 vintage police issued Wingmaster, action is like butter, factory extension, rifled sights and police rack number stamped on the left side of the receiver. I love old cop issued 870s.....

Sometimes, porn is not pretty. This is my 1970 Wingmaster in the midst of becoming a more HD friendly shotgun.

I managed to get the magazine extension before my funds crapped out in favor of more important things (food, bills, rent....)

I'm going to have the barrel cut and I need a replacement stock and forend. It'll come in time. Then, the duracoat aerosol for the finish .Until then, I have an eight round, ugly shotgun.

    Nice shotgun!

I love police trade ins as well. Where did you find the manufacture date for yours? I have two and would like to know when they were made.

Hey Pete have you traced the agency? I had a 870 that sat in a PG Cruiser for years but I'm not a shotgun guy. I got a SBE2 from benelli, a sweet 16, and a coach gun cut to 18. I REALLY love the old 870 just can find a purpose for one. That gun is a thing of beauty. I want to SBS one so bad but can't justify it.
