Seems like an appropriate time to review this thread with more protests/riots possibly on the horizon. This is not legal advice. :)

No disrespect to our LEO's but some are not well versed in the minutiae of the gun statutes.

same thing applies to some gun store employees

I was a cop for almost 30 years and you're right about that, no offense taken.

Since the protests started, screw the trunk.

The KelTec has been in the back seat. Cased and unloaded, of course.
Agree that a folded Kel-Tec Sub2000 is an excellent car carry option. They're incredibly compact and under 5 lbs. Mine is also within arm's reach.

Anyone know if the back of an SUV or a minivan is considered a trunk? If the intent of the law was to identify locked space that is separate from the main passenger area, I'm wondering if space at the back of a vehicle accessible from the front is considered a trunk. Thanks.

Does your comment refer to you being in SoMD or West PA? Second, does long gun have to be encased?

    Both

The key to PA, make sure to have a PA LTCF or other recognized carry permit. Otherwise, the long gun needs to be unloaded in the trunk, ammo stored seperately.

It's a damned shame ordinary folks have to be "Philadelphia Lawyers" to navigate Maryland's draconian gun laws. I'd ask where the Governor is, but... .

Nice. Just went on that auction site and found a vintage padded tennis bag with external padded pockets. Beat and well used. Love the idea.

Isn't the whole idea to keep da POPO and da Criminals from knowing about the guns and magazines in the new, or dirty and, old tennis bag trick?

Tennis racket case, good idea. I have several musical instrument cases that are repurposed ... not sure if that makes them less attractive to theives or more attractive.
