Yes. That is clear with the later post that said the empty cases get stuck going back in.

Maybe ken's first answer is correct, build up of fouling where the case mouth is?

That could cause difficulty extracting and also reinserting the empties.
This. It happens to me too from time to time even though I have polished chambers.

I believe this is correct. I think the lip on these rounds is a bit thicker than the cowboy rounds he was using so any dirt or burrs or whatever might be in the cylinder is what is causing the problems.

For revolver chamber cleaning, I've settled on the following:

Order revolver chamber brushes from Brownells.
Get a cheap brass pistol rod and remove the handle (unscrew, break it off, cut the rod below the handle).
Apply your favorite CLP/cleaner to the cylinders.
Chuck brass pistol rod in a variable speed drill with attached chamber brush.
Spin brush at low speed and move back and forth for a few seconds.
Push a dry patch through and repeat the above step as necessary.

I watched him show me the jamb. If he puts 6 empty cartridges in, It'll spin a time or two and then the gun gets like bound up and won't spin anymore. When this happens, he has to pull the pin and remove the cylinder out of the side. I took my SAA and could not get it into this state no matter what I did. I can only think something with the cylinder rotation barbs must be catching on something.

Well that's pretty weird. It doesn't do it with empty chambers? What make is it...Colt? Is it binding up because the bolt is engaging improperly?

I do the same. I also do the same thing for my double barrel shotguns.

The only thing I can think of that may be doing this is the cylinder base pin bushing has moved forward.

Not with empty chambers and he says not with the other ammo he uses. This is an Uberti SAA. Almost new only a couple hundred rounds through it.

We cannot tell why it is binding.

Well I'm certainly stumped. There is a simple yet incomplete and unsatisfying solution...for now: use the other ammo :rolleye12

Another piece of evidence apparently when 5 are loaded it is ok and when the 6th is added that's when the jambs start.

In a double action modern revolver, the symptoms would usually point to a bent crane. In the case of cloned 1873 revolvers, some have a short base pin bushing which may have come loose and isn't seated square. Those with the full length base pin bushing wouldn't have that problem.
