Purchased a bullpup shotgun online from Palmetto State Armory and sent to FFL. Got it home and noticed finish is blemished. Manufacturer sent me RMA and UPS label. I have the box it came in, which has zip tie that holds gun from moving around. Is that the way they usually ship them, or do they put that inside another box and FFL just took it out of outer box to get serial number?

I should have inspected it better at FFL. If I had noticed the blemish, I guess don't accept it? What happens then? FFL contacts manufacturer or seller and returns it?

You can buy a gun shipping boxes online. I believe Midway carries them. I wouldn't ship the OEM box as it may not come back to you. Since this is a long gun, you can ship it through the USPS. Just buy the gun box and fill it with styrofoam peanuts and tape it well.

I would recommend putting it in another box or at the very least taping over anything on the firearm box that remotely points to it being a firearm just for being discreet purposes. Normally, they do arrive in another box rather than the OEM box.

A lot of dealers handle it differently, all in who you pick for that service really. Most dealers would leave it to you to contact the original seller but would be happy to help facilitate the return once the label arrives. Mostly because you have all of the original order info so it tends to be easier this way.

Midway or Uline.com, Uline you can buy any exact box size you need!

OP if you bring it down to us in Huntingtown, we'd be happy to box it up and put the label on it for you. I'm sure all the dealers have tons of boxes laying around

I bought a shotgun from palmetto a few weeks ago. The shotgun was in a box from the manufacturer, and that box was shipped in a slightly larger plain box.

Thx all. I had tried to call ffl before i posted but he wasn't open. I sent email and he said i could get a box. He was open tonight but I couldn't get there. I may try Hanover Armory on way home tomorrow. Thx for the offer of packing, but Huntingtown is almost hour and half away. I should probably follow the advice and get outer box on any future purchases. This is first time I had issue and never even thought about it.
