Thats right, no guarantee that will happen though or thats always the case.Because they are ready to fall off easily at this time of year?
But if you know where they bed, I think its a higher probability to spot some where they frequent.
One time, I saw a buck run across a field where some guys went into the back.
It came across the road and turned it on when it realized I had slowed to watch them run out.
Anyway it tried to make this ditch, fell short and made a hard landing right at the far side of the ditch.
One of its horns flew right off when it landed.
I put it in park, walked over and picked it right up. The other one was still on its head as it continued to run off, talk about luck.
Anyway, that's when I started to make an effort to jump them. This time of year they're not as wary and will allow you to get closer I think. When they do take off it may be more abrupt. Especially in heavier cover with a lot of undergrowth.
