I realize it's a bit of a reach, but if Smith is 'pleading ignorance', then it needs to be looked into as to whether MSP is getting private information from NICS, somehow...

Smith mentioned that because the dealer would make a record, that was in effect a registry.

No it's not. The MSP is not privy to that information.

is brochin actually helping us this year?

I don't think it's intentional. More along the lines of a retard will actually color inside the lines at least once in his life.

Or he's counting on gun owners to forget the fiasco he singlehandedly caused in 2013 with regards to the passage of the FSA 2013

Current speaker is not speaking on this bill. He's speaking on the antique firearm bill

Smith said 1600 people in MD were prevented from purchasing last year. How many of them went on to commit a crime after denied?

He also said 20 crimes were committed with shotguns. How many of those 20 were denied by background checks?

I may not have time to ask him if I have to leave.

All the internets are failing me now. Can't get a stream going.

Internet explorer is your best bet- there are some hiccups with the stream from time to time because they use Silverlight I believe

It would be interesting (if not impossible) to know the circumstances. There are a lot of people who get caught up in these laws and become prohibited after years of not being prohibited. They aren't paying attention to what the fools in Annapolis are doing. I would bet the people denied were not denied for being violent felons.

sometimes, I truly wonder why these events are even held. The members on these committees have already made up their minds. It almost seems like an event just to make people feel like they were heard.

Actually I disagree- there are squishy legislators on some of our issues.
