    Just shows that rate dropped during ban 2 points but after the ban expired it dropped another 2 points. This obviously shows that the ban had little to no effect on homicides.

    right. the UCR website is very slow today, but there is more detail in the individual reports (breakdown by weapon type like rifle, knives and fists, etc).


    here is the US breakdown by weapons type:

    still trying to get 2004 but the site is really slow. I am 99.9% 2007 rifle-associated homicides are lower than 2004, 2003, etc along with the overall rate.
