Does anybody else find the opening statement in the Respondent's brief to SCOTUS as objectionable as I do? I added the bold font for emphasis.

New Jersey’s gun-control laws establish a “ ‘careful grid’ of regulatory provisions,” that “draw careful lines” between permission to possess a gun in one’s home or place of business and permission to carry a gun in public.

As if our God-given right to self-defense is a privilege to be conferred by the state. In light of Heller, this should be reason enough for SCOTUS to grant cert.
