Sounds like NM needs to add a penalty clause to their state preemption, like FL will have starting Oct 1.

Ruidoso has only one thing going for it....a nice race track. Other than that it's just another hole in New Mexico. I went there when I was in NM for training years ago and spoiler alert.....you're not missing much.

Having worked with Gov Martinez personally, I'll be interested in seeing what she does. She's pro 2A and she carries ;)

Seems like the May(j)or Idiot broke the law:
New Mexico Constitution Article II, Section 6

No law shall abridge the right of the citizen to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes, but nothing herein shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons. No municipality or county shall regulate, in any way, an incident of the right to keep and bear arms.

Oh I'm sure it will be over turned, but of course hundreds of thousands of dollars will be spent in the court battle.

Does anyone know anything about this town? HIgh crime rate?

They can still carry their guns. His order bans "fire arms". I liken that to "tan arms", "hairy arms", "sunburned arms", etc since he made "firearms" as two separate words.

He says his priority is the health, safety, and welfare of his employees. not to serve the interests of his constituents. Bring on the Rail, get the tar and feather.
