SR-22 is a handgun I believe. My wife has one.

I can't see why the ruger would be a bad shooter. Every ruger firearm I've ever owned has been incredible. Until it's proven, however, I'll stick to my S&W MP15-22. It's damn accurate and I have tons of ammo for it.

They have been making it for a few years. I built one from a standard 10/22. I bought the parts from Nordic Components, who actually makes the stuff for the ruger.

All it is is a 10/22 receiver set inside of a 3 piece cover ( not including handguard ). Nothing special. Actually what holds the 10/22 receiver snug, is the 4 scope base screws. If you want an ar15 type, get a s&w 15/22

As the owner of several 10-22s I can say they are fine rifles. I really like my walnut stocked models. If you want a traditional style semi auto rifle, nothing beats the 10-22. But if you want a tactical 22, the S&W 15-22 is the best. Each is best within their respective category.

It's a fine an accurate rifle...but the upper receiver screws have to be loctighted in --- but don't overdo the Loctite --- or you'll lock up the action; like I did to mine.

Buy Ruger magazines only, because the Pro Mag plastic followers wear out too easily

I have the Steel Lips mags by Butler Creek...They have several thousand rounds thru all of them with no failures.

Plastic follower with steel lips, just like my ruger 10 rounder, with the exception they are not rotary magazines.
