I installed a Timney sear and spring kit for my 77/22 and it works fine as long as I don't push the bolt lever down too fast. I tend to cycle the action fairly quickly and for some reason this is releasing the bolt. It does not come down fast enough to set off a round, but I'm sure it could, but mostly it is annoying. Any ideas one what could be the issue?

You may need to increase the amount of sear engagement. This is pretty easy to do and fairly safe if it requires stoning. Looking at pictures of the Timney sear, there appears to be a set screw for adjsuting exactly that. That may need to be backed out some.

My 77/22 has enough slop in the trigger that it can be pushed sideways and fire. Honestly, Rugers are/were made pretty crappy.
