Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary Model

I finally called Ruger CS about the canted barrel/sight issue. They're shipping out a replacement barrel. No real questions asked, very polite. We'll see how quick I get it and hope its the right one.

From what I heard on RimfireCentral.com the barrel cant issue is an improperly drilled receiver not the barrel.

Thanks for the rimfirecentral push. It seems the barrel issue is a mix of different things. Some barrel indexing, some machining, sight alignment. We'll see. I might have to try some of the tricks I read before I get my new barrel.

Omg! I took my 50thDCW apart and its so not aligned. Glad I never shot it, the extractor would have been destroyed. Loosened the vblock and it looks like my carbine now.

You guys are not inspiring a lot of confidence in these Ruger rifles.

It was an easy fix. It very common on all 10/22s. But, its showed a bigger problem on the "design contest winning" rifle. Because of the receiver mounted rear sight. I shot mine to make sure it functions. Although I have not fired it for accuracy or group size. I wonder why QC would miss this so much on a special edition.

That was funny. Any yes I did just drill them out. I'm loving my target model but the takedown target is also peeking my interest .

Not the prettiest of rifles, but I've got one and it has lots of great features out of the box. I'd recommend it to anyone if you are OK with the looks.
