I run the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x on my .308 precision rifle. It works well from 100 to 1200 yards.
I assume you're considering an HS-T? It's not just the illuminated reticle that makes a PS-T better, you want a PS-T that's first focal plane (ffp). These run about $950.Is the illuminated reticle on the Vortex worth the extra $100?
Exact same setup here. Can't say enough good things about that scope, or the rifle for that matter.
Realistically you're not going to shoot over 16x but the higher mag def helps with wind and ranging if you're using the scope for that. i started with the 10x SWFA before i spent money on the Razor 4.5-27 just to make sure I wanted to play that game. And how often are you really gonna shoot over 5-600 yrds?
