First AK-74 variant ever imported. The build quality is one of the best I have had, no canted sights or other common problems. I think these were only imported for one year which makes them kind of rare. I thought Id share some pictures and see what the AK enthusiasts have to add:)

The E. German mag matches the light wood rather well I think

Probably the best AK variant imported from Romania as well. That is a rare one. I have a set of blonde Romanian wood (My lower has the forward grip thought) that I have just in case I ever have the opportunity to own one.

They are nice guns, I have one, I ,left it in its original configuration but everything is good. Fit and finish are not bad. Mine is a CUR-2 like yours but they were later imported as Romak 2's and a few other names.

One of the best $270 I ever spent (a couple years ago).

    Shoots better than the 47.

Certainly more accurate, and with better ballistics. Hits a bit less hard than the 7.62x39 round. Saw an interview with M. Kalashnikov who said he hated the smaller round. Said he wanted to develop the 7.62 round, and that he got overruled because the military was sure that the smaller 5.56 was superior, and wanted something comparable. Of course now the hot thing is harder hitting ARs in 6.5, 6.8, ect; because of the precieved inadeqacy of the 5.56, particularlly in SBRs. (shrug) Cycles. Next we'll be hearing that the next greatest thing is the caseless 4mm 25grain round at 5000fps.
