I see on RRA website, they are getting back into the 1911 market.
It looks like they are all polymer guns though. I have heard how great their
old 1911's were and see the prices they command, I'm curious how the new
gun will stack up. Anyone else have any insight?

I'd buy a series 70 model if they make one, but I'd pay no more than other POLY designs, which would put it in the $500-550 range. It is more affordable to make 1911's this way.

It would also be nice if the frame and/or slide came drilled and tapped so you could easily add a red dot scope.

If they were going to "go to the dark side" you would think it would have a rail and a double stack...

As far as price point, can anyone really make a 1911 for less than RIA?

I love Glocks, and I love 1911's. I don't think I'll ever own a plastic 1911. It smacks of blasphemy. I would however buy a stainless frame for my Glock. I'm okay with my own hypocrisy :D

Seriously though, a plastic 1911 is probably not in my future unless it's very economical, extremely reliable, and easy to swap components.

No, its terribly wrong. A freak of nature. If they make a Poly BHP, all bets are off, the world is stupid and I want off.

Come on, Why don't you say how you really feel!

On the other hand Chad, have you any experience on the Old Steel RRA 1911?
    Any good?

    Thanks

I only saw a few, the ones I had were very well built but were ammo sensitive on certain brands. Once I did my magic the ran like a top.
