I have a Rock Island M1903 rifle with the finger groove stock and New Zealand markings on the left side of the
stock. It has the high hump hand guard and RLB and proof P markings as well. The barrel is mark 7-18 which
is correct for the serial # on the receive. Bore is mint. I know about the Remington New Zealand marked rifles
but all the ones I have seen have the NZ markings on the right side of the stock. The metal is the blackish par-
kerized finish. The overall condition of the rifle is excellent plus. all the screws are unturned. I have only seen
one other like it. It also has the Remington’03 bolt. Any input on these would be greatly appreciated.

PM a moderator, ask them to move this into the C&R subforum - you should get lots more info there. :)

RLB was a wartime 43-44 Inspectors mark to my understanding.
Might have been cleaned and repaired sometime during that time-frame and the bolt subsequently changed.
Pictures would be great to learn more about your rifle.especially the ser#,
    Sounds like a nice rifle.
