Only 1 so far, GP100 7 shot. It’s pretty awesome imho. I’m eyeing up a python

I picked up a Colt New Frontier in .22/.22WMR. Built in ‘74 with an “L” serial.
I’ll be picking up an unfired Diamondback in the next couple of weeks.
I've always loved those grips on the Ruger. Something about the black with the woodgrain just really sets it off.
I've been eyeballing the 2020 Python ever since I read about it in American Rifleman. I was even saving money towards that purchase, but then the election/Covid 19 tomfoolery began and the prices on the Python, when you could find them, were severely jacked up - sometimes more than $500 above full advertised MSRP.Only 1 so far, GP100 7 shot. I've started to rethink what I want out of a .357 revolver and I'm wondering if a Ruger GP100 or S&W 686 might be a smarter purchase.
I've read reviews where they do a shootout between all three and from what I've seen, the Ruger, especially if someone has taken the time to have some work done to slick up the internals, stacks up just fine against the others, although the S&W usually comes out on top, edging out the pricier Python.

When I bought my Gp-100 and my Sp-101; I was advised that Wolff springs would really help. I don't remember which exact ones I used but it did indeed improve the trigger a bit.

Is it a diy job?
For most people, probably. I had mine done at Gun Connection, mostly because I had never opened a revolver before and didn't want to screw it up.
I'd be down for that for sure! Can try a stock 4" GP100 if you want to meet up at Cindy's one day.
