Guys just because we have had a couple frosts, do not let your guards down.

They finally snuffed the rooster! Good thing I caught the bastard and new to look for it before it was permanent. I'm on a round of doxycycline and another antibiotic as a preventative measure. I have a big ole bullseye on my calf.

Ain't found a way to kill me yet
    Eyes burn with stinging sweat
Seems every path leads me to nowhere
    Wife and kids household pet
Army green was no safe bet
The bullets scream to me from somewhere

Here they come to snuff the rooster
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah [2x]
You know he ain't gonna die
No, no, no, ya know he ain't gonna die

    Walkin' tall machine gun man
They spit on me in my home land
Gloria sent me pictures of my boy
Got my pills 'gainst mosquito death
My buddy's breathin' his dyin' breath
Oh god please won't you help me make it through

Here they come to snuff the rooster
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain't gonna die

I've been shocked that I have not had a single Tick on me since way back in Turkey season. Last year it was a total **** of 26 Ticks removed. This year maybe 2 total.

We can thank the Gov. and Plum Island for Lyme disease.

Nope. Early European settlers described the disease in great detail in the 1600's. Our government was not sophisticated enough to genetically engineer a bacterium in the 60's when many people think it "escaped" from Plum Island.

I've known several people who contracted lymes. Happy to say that all recovered completely. I was lucky to have completed the full course of vaccine before it was taken off the market.

OMG, Somdshoot, you sound like me in years past. However, years ago it was just the damned ol'e dog ticks. Yeah they could spread disease, but they never got me and it seemed to me no big deal. These damn deer ticks, on the other hand usually leave painful welts on me even when there is no Lyme disease. it's gotten so bad with them that i no longer do any early season deer hunting. I wait until at least the first couple frosts and sometimes regular firearms season.

REPEL for clothing works great...anything with permethrine...spray on clothing the night before and let it dry...just don't get it on your skin.

    Hope the antibiotics works out.

Had one on my … um … Willey. Right on Willey’s “nose”. Terrible place for bloodsucker.:o

They didn’t snuff the rooster … nearly choked the chicken, though!:lol2:

Just to clarify, it's Lyme disease, not lymes.

Got it when I was young and didn't know until I was 20. So I've got effects that'll last my entire life. Catch it early and keep from dealing with it. Wear whatever you can to prevent them from getting on you.

Last year I only pulled a couple ticks off of me the whole season. This year, I had not found any until last Saturday morning. I pulled about a dozen off me from the morning hunt. First time I had used that particular tree with my climber...and the last time this year.
