Rem. 597 22 magnum - Feedback Please

Hello guy's, anybody own one of these? Thinking about buying one and am looking for pros, cons and feedback from hands on experience.

I have two Remington 597 in 22 LR. i have about 70,000 rounds through one and about 20,000 through my other one. I enjoy shooting them. They are pretty accurate. I haven't seen a .22 magnum 597 before.

Thanks for the info. Remington makes the 597 in 22LR and 22WMR.

Had any issues with either of them?

I have the 597 in 22 WMR. The issue that is constant among the 597's are the magazines although I only had a problem with one out of the six magazines that I have. A little silicone or gun oil spray solved the problem and I can load all the magazines I have to the maximum (8 rounds).

I have a 597 in .22WMR and love it! I got one of the last ones with a bull barrel and I must say it is quite accurate. Have actually chewed the bull out at 100 yards on a calm day from a rest.

Squirrel, Possum, etc....don't stand a chance.

Ive got a 597 as well as 10 22 and marlin 60... the 597 gets out the least though I think its a pretty great gun other than the mag issues. I have no experience with the 22wmr version but Im sure it would work just fine, maybe even better. The extra powder might help it cycle better(though cycling is not normally a problem with this gun). My only thought is that I dont believe anyone makes an extended mag for that 22wmr version... but you wouldn't be missing out on much. I have two 32 round mags for that gun that are just awful lol.

I like it, seems to be happy with CCI soft points.
