    I am looking for 2- 8lb cans

I am also looking for Winchester 209 Shot Shell Primers......

Check Fire Marshal regulations. (You MAY already know this) - You are allowed to keep up to 5 lbs of powder without the 'permit'.

    Jus' sayin'.......

I haven't seen Red Dot stocked anywhere, except for Green Top, in Ashland, VA.
(And they were limiting to three [3] 1lb containers, or one [1] 5lb container.)

Agreed, but you can store an unlimited amount inside little brass containers. Just reload quickly :)

Nowhere locally for 8 pounders, give Shydas a call and see if the have it or Promo, loads to same weight as RedDot. About a 2 hour drive from Carroll.
For primers I just ordered 10k Fiocchi from Graf and Sons, shipping including 5000 wads and Hazmat was about 35 bucks, they are out of powder. I have found the Fiocchi's to load the same as the Winchester, have used 40k of them over the last couple years with zero problems.

Yesterday Shyda's had a good supply of CCI, Federal and other primers though I don't recall whether they had Winchester on the shelf. No limit, either.

I didn't see any Alliant powders, so maybe they don't stock it. They had multiple Accurate powders in stock but mostly empty shelf space for the others. I did snag 4lb of Titewad, which I hope gets me through until Clays is back in stock.

I'm not sure about the Red Dot, but, when it comes to 209's I have used them all. I just buy a 1000 of whatever the cheapest thing is on the shelf at the time. They all have gone bang and done their job for me. I don't care what name is on the box as long as they are 209.

+1 on Shyda's. I go there about twice a year and stock up on Red Dot, wads, shot and primers.

I buy the cheapest shot and cheapest primers and my chronograph has not shown that they are all that different. I try to keep at 10000 psi for consistent burning but, if I have to get a cold primer, I just up the powder content to get to 10000.

Yes Hodgdon HP-38 & Win 231 ARE the exact same powders, just different labels. I confirmed this directly with Hodgdon.

If you look at current load data, the charge weight & velocity yield is the same with those 2 powders in the same load.

There are a few other Winchester & Hodgdon powders that are the same as each other as well.
