Recommendations: Over/Under for Trap and Skeet Under $5K

Caesar Guerini Summit or Beretta 694.
They're both at the high end of your budget and are both better than anything on your list.
If you want to go down to about 3K a Fabarm Elos would be great or Beretta 686.
A sporting clays gun is probably the best if you want just one. You really want an adjustable comb

I just looked at a CZ O/U for a friend a few days ago and couldn't believe how tight it was opening and closing. Nice looking gun and came with 5 chokes but probably would not buy that model personally. I did not see any of the trap/skeet models so don't know if they're any better.

You have a problem with a tight opening O/U, why? From normal use, the pivot area of the gun will wear in an loosen up. If it is loose in the beginning, it will get sloppy much faster.

A 725 sporting is an excellent all round gun for your budget. You can send it off to have an adjustable comb added if you need it.

Take a look at the Browning Citori Universal Hi-Post with adjustable rib from Gun Unlimited in Omaha. Have them add the adjustable comb and Gracoil to avoid sending it somewhere else to add them. Your all in cost will be just about 3K and you will have a gun that can easily be set to shoot high for trap or flat for skeet and sporting.

Clyde’s in Halethorp is a Browning dealer. I bought a 725 Sporting there years ago.

Mr Clyde is great to deal with. Some of the other guys are just OK.

But they should have a few Browning O/Us to at least look at.

ETA: Not sure about now but before Covid, Bass Pro had a decent selection of O/Us. Browning and Beretta I believe. I’m no fan of bass pro but it could be a place again to take a look and check them out in your hands.

Go to Albright's in Easton. Not exactly close but worth the drive. They have everything and will fit the gun to you.

You can also call Jack Bart and he will meet you at LRTC and let you shoot it before you buy. He will also fit you to you gun.

Lotsa people think he retired when the store closed. But his teaching and fitting was a sideline that is enjoyable to him so he transferred his FFL and can continue to fit and sell long guns. For Guerinis, Jack Bart or Larry Albright are probably the guys to talk to. I personally would choose Jack just because I know him. I do have a Guerinis, but I probably shoot my Brownings more simply because I also hunt with them.

I did not know that the Silver Reserve has sold for 25+ years. Interesting.

The ones made today are not as fancy as the one I have. It has a gold trigger, inlayed pheasants and some scroll work. It is a Silver Reserve I their earlier version.

That CG Invictus III is pretty awesome looking. I really like the ease with which parts can be replaced and it really looks nice. Never thought I would write this, but I might go over to the CG website and look some more.
