If you're referring to my post, it was the 10mm of that G20/21 platform that was 15+1. The .45acp is 13+1.

    Para ordinance is 14+1
    FNP TACTICAL 45 15+1
FNX 45 (tactical?) 15+1 and thats what I know of...there are most likely a few I missed...haven't kept up on handguns.

    Double Stack: HK USP45
Single Stack: Sig220 (judging by the handle, did you expect something different?)

1911s rock. And they always will rock. :party29: Luckily, for me, during my first military pistol qual (for which I was issued a range weapon that almost fell apart in my hands), I bumped into one of the officers from my unit who offered me his Mark IV Gold Cup to qual with. We grew up with MANY 1911s...so it's a sentimental fave. I also love my Ruger SR45 (but had to send it back once, it's been perfect ever since), and the Ruger Lightweight Commander. I'd never been a Glock fan. They never felt 'right' to me. But when I fired my friend's 21SF in .45, it changed my mind about Glocks.

So, while you can get a Glock for a bit less money and you probably won't have any problems with it, my suggestion for a good 'forever gun' (depending on the stack desired) would be either a HK USP or a Sig220

Sorry, just have to be be that guy:

    TWO WORLD WARS! :P

In all seriousness, I really like my 1911, but capacity is a major consideration. For those who prefer steel-framed, I've heard good things about the CZ 97BD, same with the Jericho 941FS45, though the latter has been discontinued.

Polymer, I've shot a Beretta PX4 in .45 and was pleasantly surprised, same with the XD. A buddy of mine has a Glock 30SF and says its heavy as hell for what it is.

    Hope this helps.

YES,, Thank you. . . . . again, help me out here. What exactly IS it? I looked at Sigs who are only 12+1 and HKs who are 9+1. If your gun is a 13+1 in .45, it's the Best that's out there,,, so far.

    FNX 45, a 1911, or a 2011. I too love the FNX

It really all depends on what you prefer

In 2020 can you even buy a bad gun anymore? My opinion is no, just some guns work better for certain people.

My G41 is 15+1 as I said before the FNX 45 is 15+1 also. What are you trying to figure out?

Love 10mm, probably the most practical of the "magnum" autoloader calibers, a couple more rounds of capacity, and a range from <400FPE up to 700+. Thing is once you get into the 45acp, 45 super, 460 Rowland that range goes from the same <400FPE to over 1000. The 45 super is close to the 10mm's power range, the 40 super(45cal case necked down to 10mm) is above it, and close to the Rowland's power. Lot of options in a 45 breech face/magazine with simple barrel and/or spring swaps. 10mm has the 9x25 dillon and 40S&W swaps, but thats about it. 9x25 dillon, while cool, you can get similar velocities from light 135gr 10mm bullets, although the ability to send <100gr 380 bullets past 2K FPS is cool. 10mm's main issue is the large primer, case heads in hot ammo get HAMMERED, 45 has larger volume and more base area, so it's not as bad.

There's a few calibers you'll be able to find just about anywhere following a zombie apocalypse or financial & or government collapse from upside down spending of trillions...

    9mm
    .357/.38 Special
    .45 ACP
    .223/5.56
    .308/7.62
    30-06
    .22

Yeah, that's actually backwards based on personal experience. I've seen several ammo 'droughts' since 2008 and except for 30-06 all of those calibers listed are the first to vanish... especially .22, 9mm, and 5.56.

There were months at a time when the only thing on the shelf was an occasional box or three of .40 and various hunting calibers not used in 'tactical' firearms. It was more common to spot a random box of .357sig than 9mm or .45.

You can do a 10mm 2011 that holds 20+1. Wide grip so no good for carry, unless you open carry.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Beretta PX4 Storm, hopefully you'll get a chance to check it out. Otherwise my other equal choice would be the FN FNX 45. It would be nice if you let the panel know which one (or ones) you picked, whenever that may be. Enjoy your search.

I guess my name is "Nobody", now. :P

I forgot to mention two: I got to shoot a Ruger P90 a few years ago, and really liked it. They can be had used for $400-$500 these days, and I've seen some New Old Stock for $600-$700. There's also the S&W 4500 series, but capacity's an issue for both.

You could always go for a S&W Governor if you like revolvers, or a Ruger Redhawk. You get .45 ACP and .45 Colt in both, with .410 in the Governor.

Or... you could always get a Hi-Point. :P
