ONE WEEK OUT FROM LOBBY DAY AND LEGISLATIVE ATTACKS ARE COMING!
HB 498 was just introduced for the 2018 General Assembly session that would destroy reciprocity with a large number of states! If you travel, this bill could severely affect you.
We need everybody on VA-ALERT to be engaged STARTING THIS WEDNESDAY, when the General Assembly session starts. We are going to be in a fight and we had best be prepared for it. I will be sending out alerts, as needed, to coordinate all of you so we can prevail.
Gun owners of all stripes must stand together to protect and restore our rights!
We also need a big Lobby Day next Monday. Dr. John Lott will be our keynote speaker - you won't want to miss it!
RSVPs
We need another 19 RSVPs to reserve our own room at the Pre-Lobby Day dinner next Sunday, January 14.
We still have room on the buses from Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Roanoke, and Lynchburg on Lobby Day, January 15. RSVP as soon as possible to secure your seats
PRE-LOBBY DAY DINNER - DETAILS
VCDL will have its annual Pre-Lobby Day dinner at the same location as last year. The dinner will be on Sunday, January 14, at 5 PM at:
Hibachi-Sushi & Supreme Buffet
(Westland Shopping Center)
8087 W. Broad Street
Richmond, VA 23294
https://hibachisushiandsupremebuffet.com/
Please RSVP to me (president@vcdl.org) with the number in your party as soon as possible, as the restaurant needs to hold a room large enough to accommodate us.
BUSES - DETAILS
We have buses picking up in Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Roanoke, and Lynchburg for Lobby Day this year. If you wish to take one of the buses, Tess Ailshire and Leyla Myers will take your RSVP at email address: bus@vcdl.org
IMPORTANT: Include in the email:
1) which location you will be using (Roanoke, Lynchburg, Fairfax, or Fredericksburg)
2) the number of people in your party, and
3) your cell phone number
We request a $20 contribution to help offset the cost of the buses (about $1,000 each). However, it is more important that we have plenty of people at Lobby Day, so if you can't make a full contribution or can't contribute at all, that is not a problem. Anyone wishing to contribute more, we'll gratefully accept that, too. Proof of a contribution is not required to get on the bus.
NOTE: All buses will arrive at Lobby Day at 8 a.m. and will leave at 2 p.m. The buses have restrooms.
