I'd like to try firing one before I buy. Anybody know who rents them?

When I was looking into getting one i checked:

    On Target
    Blue Ridge Arsenal
    Continental Arms
    Freestate

    None had them.

I think you'd have better luck meeting up with someone that has one.

Missed a guy who had one at On Target by about 1/2 hour once.

I had a feeling that was the case. I'm surprised no one has them

Well, at various times SIG has told their US dealers that the gun was discontinued and then it was back in the catalog. Someone needs to slap SIG's management around and get their heads out of their backsides.

I have one and have let another member test it. I shoot at Free State. Bring or buy a box of good brass cased 9mm ball and you can try it.

Looks a lot like the H&K USP.

Except the USP in Variant 1 could be carried cocked and locked or with the hammer down, DA/SA. The SP2022 is either DAO or traditional SIG DA/SA. Apparently withe the SIG, you can change out the fire control module and change the gun from DAO to SA/DA. The USP has something like six different variants.

I would not turn down either handgun as long as I could get the HK in Variant 1. Love carrying cocked and locked.

While by all accounts the Sig 2xxx' s are decent guns , the sales in the US never met expectations . Apearently it sells better internationally.

SIGArms is instead. Promoting the P250 and the old school Pxxx series in the US.

mikec, I have a H&K USP V1. I have it set up with the decock lever. It's a nice pistol...never had an issue with it.

I actually do have one...and I LOVE it. Never had a problem. I, as well as many others consider it one of SIG's best worst-kept secrets. This is also my carry piece. I love shooting it, and I take it out every time I go. It's comfortable in my hands and it's easy to fire.
