Finally got a chance to take the new P2022 to the range. Went down to Delmarva Sporting Clays for the day.

Took about 150 rounds (through 3 new mags) to get error-free, but all rounds past that were completely without problem. And I shot about 450 rounds. Every round I fired at the paper hit the paper (shredded the center and just above) and I only missed one shot at the steel silhouette, mostly because I was dumb and fired before I had control of the muzzle.

I love this gun. Accurate, easy on the hand, easy to rapid-fire. A very good day :D

It is a great reliable and inexpensive weapon. I have one and have had 0 issues with it.:D

You can get one for so cheap now I keep thinking about going to get one just for the hell of it. The only thing holding me up is that at this point I'm so tore up with pistol matches that if I can't see myself shooting a gun in a match I can't see myself buying one and this the case with the sig.

Left my phone in the van, so no pics :(

Got it cheap on sale from PSA with free shipping with the transfer and a fired shell casing by Keep Shooting.

Love love love mine. About 1k rounds through it without so much as a hiccup. Got mine from Lawmen Supply in Clinton Md. $418 plus tax. Pistol, 3 12 round magazines, case and cable lock, interchangeable grip. ( bore lock was extra)

I love this gun. I couldn't miss, seriously.

Have a pic in the Sig Porn thread, but here it is again:

And next to the P250 it replaces:

It was $349 from PSA, plus MSP and fired shell casing from Keep Shooting. It was still under $400.

I have one and believe the gun is underrated. Reliable, handles well and is accurate if you are familiar with it. In fact, I have never read anything negative about it anywhere on the net. Always wondered why it never recieved the support other pistols with the same performance have enjoyed.

Good move the 2022 is a much better platform than the 350. I keep thinking of getting another one.

We have one as well. Great little pistol.

Ya its rare anymore that someone, especially a marque like Sig makes a valueline product that actually does everything it should.

I liked mine so much after it was broken in that I retired my glock as A home defense gun.

Well see how I like shooting it with the tactical light on nextime.

I have one in .40, and it quickly replaced my Springfield 1911 as my favorite handgun. The 2022 is simply a pleasure to shoot, and it's dead-nuts reliable and accurate. One of these days I'll get one in 9mm.

In short...it's a horrible combat arm.

They do go bang and are reliable.

Short of that they arent well balanced and the bore axis is really really high.

It's an in between size. A bit bigger then a G 19 making it hard to conceal but smaller then a full size where you gain high capacity and longer barrel for accurary.

It's a betweener gun...a GREAT value for a target pistol and fairly good at the self defense role.

It did not gain much popularity in the police/military world for a reason.

It's very popular with Law Enforcement in Europe. Not sure what to attribute that to, just an observation.

I've been told that's why they are so cheap right now. Sig has made so very many of them for different police agencies in Europe that they streamlined the manufacturing process a lot bringing the cost down. How true it is I don't know but that's what I've been told.

It's funny, the SP2022 is the only currently-made SIG I'd consider buying. Except from the German stamped-steel slide P226 and P225 of course. But then again they cost at least twice as much as the SP2022...

How is the snap in .40? I was going to buy a CPO .357 as they have been coming in cheap, but this is due to the fact that everyone and their brother is abandoning the .357 sig cartridge which will probably become obsolete in 10 years. I do like the cartrige and it handles great in my 226 (which I also have a .40 and .22 barrel/slide for) but I am hesitant to invest in another gun that I cant swap the barrel without fitting. So given these great guns are so cheap (and my 9mm has become my favorite shooter) I amthinking of a .40 for HD.
