Essen Room is great. Count me in. Will get there EARLIER this time though. At the last MDS meetup there... everyone was seated and totally pigging out before the published start time.

Yeah, I think that might have been my fault. If I remember correctly, I had to leave to get my daughter to a birthday party, then my son to a birthday party, and then pick them both up. When I got to my son's paintball venue in Pasadena, I got lucky. One of the parents there offered to drive my son home. So, no rushing around for the pickups. Ironically, I have to drive the same son and daughter around tomorrow to birthday parties, but this time they are local.

Anyway, I told eruby that I would be there a little early to hang out with him before having to leave, the word spread, and I guess it stopped short of WillTill. Look forward to seeing you on the 4th.

10:00 am will be a good start time for brunch, even if there are any birthday parties that come up for me between now and then. Plus, my wife has that day off so she can schlep them around instead of me.

You mean how to make time, or how to get out in the Bay?

Both of the above and then some. Need to get a boat, figure out how to use a trot line, find a spot in the Bay, etc. I'm a noob to this. Going to try to get a boat this spring and go crabbing this spring and duck hunting this fall with it. Pretty much a noob to both in a boat. I can fish just fine from a boat through.

I'm sure you will figure it all out. You seem to work well under pressure in all areas of life.

Trying to figure out how to go crabbing with a trot line this summer.

I’m getting my boat in the water this summer after a few years of not going. I have a 750 ft trot line. If’n the crabbing is good, I’ll let you know and show you the ropes.

My (NJ native) wife likes crab cakes, but says Marylanders only enjoy picking crabs because "That's what the cool kids do". MIA member iHasCrabs said something very similar.
I like picking crabs and drinking beer as a social event- understanding I'm likely burning more calories picking them than I'm taking in.
I have some Lower Eastern Shore watermen friends. If we wait until after Labor Day, I can get a really good deal on fat Chesapeake Bay crabs for a MDS crab feast. I'm talking ~$100 bushels of #1 Jimmies.

Just another blip in the timeline of MDS. Folks come and go. Sometimes they group up either formally or informally. They all manage to eventually move on one way or another.

Another example of "us" (whatever that may be) being or own worst enemy. Right or wrong, one way or another, the 2A community (whatever that means to you) always seem to have end fighting and separation.

Ed Norris had said it several times. He and then Gov. Ehrlich met with members of the 2A community and it ended the same way it started.

The best boat to use is your buddy's boat. I've owned a few in my life and I just got tired of pumping money into them. I knew that BOAT means to Break Out Another Thousand too.

Mines easy. 18’, center console, outboard. Does what I need it to do, fits on a trailer.
