Say I'm at a gun show in Virginia and come across one can I purchase it and take it with me? The reason I'm asking this is because I noticed at a local dealer that it is a cash and carry rifle. Plus I plan on attending some out of state gun shows and hope to come across one to purchase at a reasonable price.

Its all dealer dependant. I bought 1 in PA 4473 . Went to a VA show and saw 1 and The Dealer refused to do paperwork but would send it to my MD dealer.

As long as it is a rifle and it's before 1 OCT 2013, yes.

Otherwise, after 1 OCT 2013 you will have to add a barrel extension to it or some other device to reach the 29" overall length (like a suppressor). :)

Sounds good. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to several VA shows this summer and was going to keep my eyes out for one.

or the shoulder thingie that goes up!

Thanks Markp. Have been wondering what that "shoulder thing that goes up" reference was. My goodness, these lawmakers are ridiculous, aren't they?
