Does anyone know of a private camping area that allows shooting? Me and a few other Soldiers are looking for an area that allows us to shoot and pretty much set our own range rules. We are experienced combat veterans and NRA RSOs and would like to do some practicing of holster draws, shoot-move-communicate drills, non-standard shooting positions (prone, behind cover, lying down, etc.) pistol and/or rifle shooting, and other combat drills we have in our portfolios for real-world shooting situations.
We don't really need modern conveniences, but if we want to bring our wives, they at least need a porta-john or restroom facility. A small cabin with running water and electricity would be nice, but not required. It doesn't need to be fancy, just functional. Tent camping is also an option of the ladies don't go.
Fishing is optional, but we would like to fish and cook our own meals.
We would prefer to have an area where people aren't around so we don't have to worry about folks walking up and asking if they can join in our fun. We need a weekend away from society...
