Was wondering how long before it went off rails...Meaning no disrespect to our membership, but can we limit this thread to actual experiences and not musings on what should and should not be areas where carrying is prohibited?

Same thing happened to me with a knife at the Arundel Mills casino (Live, I think).Horseshoe casino does not allow any weapons. Security guard saw the clip of my knife in my back pocket one day and made me put it in my vehicle. She didn't see what else I had thoughThey have metal detectors set off to the side but I've never seen them being used.
Here in PA the Gaming Control board had overstepped their authority to ban firearms. Of all people, it was disgraced, criminal, former state DA Kane that had to reverse that, as they didn’t have the power to make firearm laws. The casinos themselves all still ban them, but the state law is gone.Horseshoe casino does not allow any weapons. New technology makes gun screening not look like conventional metal detectors and wanding. With Evolv you may not know they are screening you for weapons.
If that’s the main building at the park you’re talking about that’s a Federal building and prohibited for most- not sure what the laws would be for LEO.Meant to update this a few weeks ago...
The official visitor's center at Gettysburg has a security guard at the door. He asks if you have any pocket knives or firearms. Presumably if you say yes, you'll be denied entry. Obviously a knife can be kept in your car. I don't know if they would allow you to lock a firearm in your car.
Now, I didn't see any metal detector. That said, I would suppose that if you are armed and tell the guard you aren't, you may be some trouble if that's discovered.

I was there in September and the guard asked. I advised I had a pocket knife. He asked to see it, glanced at it and said all good. Maybe they look for fixed blades or something? I was carrying a benchmade super freek.

Experienced this one live in practice today- it’s the equivalent of going into a courthouse, everything out of pockets and through the detector. Pro tip- try not to have an eye injury on a Saturday, the only place to be referred is Hopkins ER.Johns Hopkins Emergency ONLY has a metal detector and a cop.
All the regular entrances have no detector and no signs.
