I decided to do a little homework concerning what kind of ammo I was going to buy, I ended up with this list.

This list is for Home Defense and Personal Protection, although I have been in the works with training ammo as well.

Today is 2-28-2011 and here is the list:

    winchester Ranger SXT 26.99/50@SmokeWagonGear.com
    Winchester Ranger Talon(T) (408.61 T&S)369.95/500@AlamoAmmo
    25.78/50 @Mahsupplies.net
Winchester SXZ 33.99 /50@Bass Pro Shop

    Winchester super-x Silver Tip 22.59/20@gunforall.com
    Remington Golden Sabers 19.79/25@cheaperThanDirt.com
    Speer Gold Dot45 Cal 250 GrainHP 18.99/50

    Winchester PDX1 25.05/20@grabagun.com
    35045/20@ammobank.com
    Winchester PDX1 Bonded 28/20 @LuckyGunner.com
    24.75/20@tds-us.com
    22.99/20@cabelas.com

    Extreme Shock E-Shock 45 ACP(Fragmenting HP)
    (Enhanced Penetration) 185 grain 24.90/6
    10.46/6 georgiagunstore.com

    E-SHOCK AIR FREEDOM 45ACP 125GR (6) 9.09/6
    30.39/20 (same p/bull)

    Glaser Silver #6shot max Penetration 12.34/6 @Prairiearms.com

I know there is ammoengine.com but it can only help so much, and this list is a little more time speificl.

I still have yet to find bulk plinking for the 45ACP.

Hope you guys enjoy this list.!:party29:

3/6 I ended up getting some TulAmmo about 450 round for a couple bucks under $150, however, I hear cruddy things about TulAmmo, being Russian made and very cheap. It comes in a Spam Can which I find both hilarious and a PITA.

Read the heading and thought it was about the component, not loaded ammo.

Are you looking for SD ammo, or practice ammo ? The perplexing part is that just about any major or semimajor brand .45acp JHP is at least pretty good, and none are really poor choices. Reliability, POI/ POA , accuraccy, and price in more or less order are deciding factors. While there are several fine 185gr or 200gr loads , one of the 230gr JHPs will be more likely to share POI w/ 230gr fmj practice ammo.

well the majority of these are for Personal Protection and Self Defense, however, there are other target practice rounds.

One option is Tula Ammo; 146.89 for 450 rounds, and thats with tax and shipping included. But I hear that Tula is a you get what you pay for round... that's still a pertty lower price per ammo: $0.32642_ per round

I talk to some of the people working at both Wally World and Bass Pro, and I hear people trying to find the exact date and time they stock the 45s so that they can bum rush it and hoard hoard hoard.
