Picked this one up years ago, took some pictures the other day because someone was interested in buying it, forgot just how nice looking this one is. It is WW2 production, walnut stock.

Nice. They dont make them like that anymore thats for sure.
Too many moving parts with wood.
Nothing to fix or work on, all that was properly implemented before final distribution.

They don't make them like this for sure, it looks like they even went to the trouble to match the wood on the hand guard to the stock.

Beautiful figure on that walnut stock. When you can find pre-war and WW2 vintage Schmidt Rubins that lived a good life they can be spectacular. The post war birch furniture is typically found in great condition but boring to look at.

That rifle has very pretty wood. Nice figuring in the grain. You have a great piece of history.

Indeed it is! So once you had it in your hands again, did you say "nope, not gonna sell it"?

(gender-neutral, royal you, not anyone in specific):
Sell/trade sounds good in theory but once you look at it, you remember why you got it in the first place :)

Probably still going to sell it, I really need to move some stuff, I'm getting old
