    Pro tip:

    Keep them in a see thru container. If the water gets cloudy, one has cracked and you should eat the others soon. We use empty containers from the Tastle brand instant coffee that I drink.

    We have many (hundreds?) of eggs preserved like this

    We do this. Eggs with poo should not be used. just clean unwashed eggs.
    Important to examine each egg carefully and make sure there are no cracks. not even a hairline crack. One cracked egg in your container will ruin the entire batch.
    We have kept and used them up to about a year.
