Left some powder in the hopper overnight, ONE TIME, and it etched the RCBS Uniflow hopper, badly.

It was either Bullseye or Unique powder.

I emptied the powder measure and took it apart.
Using a "scotchbrite pad" I was able to get almost all of the etching removed.

I was showing my son how you can stick a finger into the hopper, and feel the slight roughness about 1/3 the way up from the bottom.

    Lesson learned.
Empty the powder measure after EVERY loading session.

Powder volume in the hopper… I don’t predetermine how much I will use. My measure has a minimum and maximum level where throws its most consistent charges. I have those two levels marked with stick label strips. It even has a baffle in it to alleviate measure powder height affecting charge density (weight). But it does what it does.

I left Bullseye powder in my Lyman 55 which I love for 2 weeks and it not just etched but its now bulged out some.
I never thought about it till now reading this thread. Just ordered spare cylinder from Lyman but its on back order.

Because of this thread I dumped the powder out of my hopper after reloading some 45 ACP the other night.
