Admittedly, I've only put one slide together so far :o but it worked out way easier than I was anticipating. I couldn't use the tool for for the liner. My liner fit tighter around the tool than in the channel, so the tool would pull it out. I ended up just dropping it in and guiding it with very light pressure and a pin punch.
Are you sure the liner is in the right way? One end should have a very slight taper, which goes in first. Is there any chance that something is not right with the firing pin assembly

I made sure the taper was the right way. It just is not quite to the edge of the steel lip machined in the channel.

I had some parts on order from Brownells that were supposed to arrive on the 26th. They keep sending them UPS with a handoff at the end to USPS. This one is stuck in limbo between UPS saying transferred to USPS and USPS saying package not received. I talked to brownells and they said they are going to overnight me a new order.

Well, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas. Like I said, my whole build went together like legos. I'm not saying that to brag, and I'm certainly attributing it more to being lucky with parts compatibility than any sort of skills from my end. :o While I learned a lot doing it, I would have probably learned a lot more valuable information if it didn't go as smoothly.

Hopefully someone with more experience can help.

I'm pretty sure it just needs a good tap to get it the last little bit into the channel. I just couldnt do it with a pen or pencil. We'll see when the tool arrives.

As for the brownells order I contacted them to say it had been in limbo btw ups and usps for 6 days so they overnighted me a replacement. Should come tomorrow. Then a few hours after that usps finally found the original and it is also supposed to come tomorrow.

That's good, on both counts. If both orders do arrive, are you supposed to send one back? I'd be really tempted to "send" (wink wink, nudge nudge) it back USPS and let Brownells argue with them about losing it...again. I also would not trust getting the original until it was in my hands.

I cringe whenever I see an order coming to me USPS. They make Amazon Prime shipping about worthless. They have lost a few orders and flat out lied about the delivery status many times...once claiming that they could not get my package to me because the "gate was locked." I don't have a gate...or even a fence :banghead:

I hate the fact that I have to trust them to get my checks to the right destination to pay my bills. Somehow, they must do better with letters than packages.

I dont know what their policy is. I asked them what i should do if i get both. I'm hoping they'll just say keep it. Its just a lpk so not big money.

Is anyone using flared magwells on there P80 guns? If so are they P80 specific or any Glock fit magwell will work? And finally I am looking for one in anodized red.

My first P80 was a v1.5 and it had quite a flare on the magwell. Since Glock mags are nicely tapered, I cut it down to reduce the size of the gun a little more after doing a fairly extensive grip reduction. I now have a magwell that looks like the one on my v2.0 P80 and have no problems when changing mags on either.

If you have a v2.0 P80, I think the grip is the same as a standard G17 grip. It looks like a grip plug would fit the same as in a Glock.

I am not sure what your primary use is for this gun, but you may find it unnecessary to ad a flare to your magwell once you get used to swapping mags with it unmodified.

I have a few pistols on which mag swaps are definitely not easy to do quickly, but my P80s are nice and smooth.

I messaged polymer80, with this question and they said glock magwells would NOT fit. Polymer 80 sells magwells and there are a few on eBay if you search polymer 80 magwell. I opted for the cheap ones which are made by Cain arms in Salisbury. They are $16.99 each delivered. Actually pretty nice for the price.

I have a flared magwell extension. They are specific to P80s. They hook on the front and use the plug. You can find 3D printed ones on Ebay for $20. There are also $70-100 alloy ones.

The p80 magwell comes in red flavor and although costly, is well made, and fits perfect.

Blacklist also available in red, cost a bit more, and is very similar to p80s, I have one that fit perfect on a compact but 2 others, I needed to modify the grip a touch.

On that note, if you don’t mind trimming the front flare down and rounding the edge on the rear of the grip off, then most Glock magwells will fit.

    My Cain arms ODG..
I forgot that is who I got it from. It works. But, as I said the front moves down when you grip it. The color is really off. Hopefully they fixed that. For the price its perfect.
