    Looks awesome!!!

Long shot, but try googling the serial number. Sometimes you can find an inventory sheet online that was used in the bid process. I found out that one of my 870s was from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics that way.
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.

This is the good side of the shotgun. It almost looks like someone used an orbital sander on the receiver. That's how big and shiny the wear area is on the other side. I'm guessing it's from how it was mounted in the vehicle. Doesn't bother me a bit though.

I was able to snag one and got to range today. Worked as expected. Running slow it didn’t choke on target loads. Pretty happy with it. Agree, the insides are excellent.

Love my 11-87. Only shotgun I've ever owned. Have both a barrel for geese/ducks and a rifled barrel for deer. I pull it out when I've failed to tag a deer in archery season...

I’m sooo tempted by one of these 11-87s but I’d have to sell something else so I have room to put it someplace.

Someone on Arfcom said that the solid rubber “supercell” buttpad on these came out in 2008.

The 11-87 was made until 2020.

ETA: this article supports the 2008 date of the supercell introduction
