Pinned & Welded Muzzle Removable

I currently have an AR with a pinned and welded muzzle birdcage and am considering getting it removed to put a different device on. Any gunsmith recommendations in the SOMD area? I usually enjoy doing this type of stuff myself but don't want to ruin the barrel or current birdcage.

I don't know of anyone in SOMD who can do it. But, odds are the birdcage is gonna get wrecked removing it so if it's something you think you could do, give it a shot.

I have removed them. 1/8" carbide bit directly on the pin. Done.

A center punch, drill, and a little "Tap Magic" is all you need. Go slow. if you use a dremel, slow it way down.

That is how I have done it. Just go slow and keep checking to see when you reach the threaded part of the barrel and can turn the muzzle device off.
