I picked up a M91 (Tikkakoski 1943) from Shooter's Discounters today. Lou was super friendly and very helpful, highly recommended. There is a really interesting shooter grade card attached to the M91, dated 1980 & 1972. Per the shooter card, I think the rifle may shoot high... I have not had a chance to translate the Finnish words, but I will!

There must be a Finnish Bubba running around named TJ!

i dont have a picture of the whole rifle on hand but here's the carving.

its otherwise a beautiful pre war stock with some great markings as you can see.

at least whoever did it had the decency not to carve it over the stock markings lol.

Great looking Finn! I believe that is the only year of Tikka M91's that I don't own.
Most of the stuff on the hangtag you can figure out. "Syopaste", is corrosion level of the bore. 0 is best condition to 3 being the worst allowable before scrapping.

I also own many Finn rifles with various carvings. One of the many things I enjoy about collecting Finns.

I believe "TJ" left his mark on one of my Finned US M91s; now I will have to dig it out and check. The M91 is my favorite rifle for shooting the venerable 7.62x54r. A very stable platform.
dre271, if it shoots as good as it looks you are lucky. Nice pickup!
Chaunsey, that sure looks like black walnut.
