Ordered my SubCompact XD9 today...

After power got knocked out in Delaware, work shutdown and we all took an early holiday. I figured I'd visit Wayne over at Manchester's and see what was new.

I've been debating purchasing a new handgun since I got the girlfriend to do some shooting with me. After her enjoying it, I got the idea to get her something more her size. She liked my G17, but it was a little big and she struggled with it ergonomically. The USP was like her holding up a cement block.

So, being as that may...I got to thinking about her and defense at home. Since I got my CCW, I carry daily during work (DE) and I have my G17 with me. That leaves her with my USP, 870Express, and AR15 at home. None of those is she comfortable with or efficient in shooting.

SO THAT MEANS NEW GUN TIME!

Hopefully everything will be in and I'll have it circa 10th-ish.



ELSE. I fingered a PTR91 at the store and fell in love with it. Maybe I can find some funds for a new battle rifle.

Quiet, which is a plus for me and the way I prefer it. No crappy out of town tourists thinking they can ass it up just because they don't live here.

Not yet....but I'd wager big $$ they'll be out before 2009 is over....

Supposedly there are plans for 3.5-3.75" XDM compacts that are "melted" more than the full size for concealed carry, no word on date of release, price, or even if they will make it to production. There is no 45 version of the compact or full size on the radar at all, I guess it is easier to chop the mag and slide instead of expanding them.

Well apparently people are buying guns for some reason, and making ordering things difficult. Still no XD yet, as a great deal of people are out of stock.
