I have the T/C New Englander, nowhere near as nice as the Hawken but same caliber and twist. Mine shoots the heavy Maxi balls and Maxi hunters best, as you seem to have found with yours. I use the patched round balls for practice/plinking only, now, since they're a lot cheaper.
