Now how in hell did this thread get derailed???

I don't know. I thought I posted a picture of my "big boned and beefy" '17 Enfield.

    Let me try again...

Look at that fat pig next to that svelte and graceful Mauser!

The committee started with the Mauser, and after about 15 years of work, produced that Porker!

I think the genius behind the beef is the beefiness itself.

It is one, rugged rifle. Heavily protected sights front and back.

My old and tired eyes love the peep sight.

And 6+1 in the chamber ain't bad either.

What I don't like about this one, is the front sight is rotated a degree or two past center to the right.

The pin is solid. Always wondered if they centered the front sight post in the dovetail, tapped the front sight left or right to obtain the proper windage and then pinned them off center if need be. This would allow for more front sight correction if needed. I have to cant the rifle just a hair to get the sights to line up.

Yeah, it's a porker compared to the Mauser, BUT.....................

Yes, "big boned and beefy." That's right.

How did THIS ^^^ porker come into play???:lol2: So THIS ^^^ is the final version (comparison) of that below??? :lol2:

The committee improved on a sports car by turning it into a truck.

    Here's what they started with:

Hell, if the bore was decent I'd give $150 for it, today. It'll never be what it was but it would be a nice deer rifle.

if the bore is good, i may be interested in it.

If either of you (or anyone else) are still interested, she's now ready to sell it.

PM me for her contact info.

Whatever dealings will be between you and her.

She lives in Colgate, off North Point Rd., behind K-Mart.

I'm sure she's a real nice lady, though. And she's obviously trying to shed some pounds riding that bike around :lol2::D
