One thing that always troubled me is when fellow gun owmers saying they lost all there guns in a boating accident or to bury them, i feel if you need to bury them that is the very time you need them the most because later will be to late.

Well, machine guns didn't use to require special registration. It's only a matter of time before the folks that want complete control regulate every item capable of firing a projectile.

    It's called "infringement".

I can fire a rubber band (projectile) from my finger. I currently have said finger raised so they may come attempt to regulate it.

Yes, it's difficult to type this way ...

It's a good thing I don't have one of those evil .223/5.56 AR-15 terrorist rifles.......

    ................I have a Ruger Mini-14. With a 30 round magazine.

Wonder what the price of 5.56 will be tomorrow. Ammo is an easier target for him than rifles if Congress is not helping him, and even if an Executive Action is later ruled unconstitutional, politically he can claimed to have tried.

I bet he will mention his "support" for hunting and sporting traditions but question why people need military-style weapons.

Is any major network broadcasting his address? CNN seems to have blocked off time. Fox News and MSNBC have regular programming scheduled but might switch. Ironically, FX is broadcasting "White House Down" in the 8pm time slot.

Gaah! I just watched Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) prattle on about how America needs to "admit that we have a gun problem." The MSNBC talking-heads regurgitate that "the common thread is guns."

Further, "Congress has been a bystander to all this ...that bystander voice is a voice of evil. Shooters are evil, but people who stand by and do nothing, and say nothing can be done to fix problems, that's a voice of evil too."

I suspect the "D" after his name, normally referencing a party affiliation, actually means "douchenozzle." Damn. That just sets the stage for a Big O'nnouncement this evening, don't it?

I don't think there will be much concern over Obama banning guns. Even an EO won't stand for long. It amazes me the Dems are for these types of shenanigans. They can't be too stupid to realize that the precedent set now for EOs will carry over to the next administration, can they?

Your mention of rubber band reminds me of one I heard one a few days ago, at the range house at AGC, that left me shaking my head. A member told a few of us that he uses rubber bullets in his home defense firearm. He lives in Columbia and IMO exhibits the mentality of the liberal types I associate with the city.

His concern is that none of his family or neighbors get hurt in case he misses his assailant and launches a round(s) into the hood.

My counter was that he didn't value his own life or the lives of his family very much if that was to continue to be his ammo of choice. I failed to convince him of my point, and he walked off.

When your life is at stake, you want the most powerful piece and round that you can handle! Deal with any potential mishap afterwards! If not, you might not be around for ice cream and cake at your next birthday.

I might have to do a border crossing to stock up on some standard capacity mags.
